what do you guys think of tennant? i liked him pretty good but i have heard quite a few mixed reviews from those who have already seen the whole season.

I think he's fine. The show is weird enough to get away pretty much with anything. [img]wink.gif[/img]

By the end of the season we liked him almost as much as Tom Baker.

I was disappointed when I knew Eckleson (sp?) was leaving for fear of being type cast, he had a lot of potential for the role. Tennent did an excelletn job in the first two eposides so far, and I think he could do the role justice as he seems not to really take himself that seriously (to be able to do the role of having Cassandra in your head, that was funny), so there isn't going to be that concern over the type casting I feel.

The interplay with him and Rose is good, but not sure as good. Although I am going to be curious how the 3rd seacon pans out since Billie Piper left to go play Mommy on an estate in Wales and has given up acting for the time being.

I just finished watching all of 2nd season and have to say I like the new Doc. And my childhood dream came true with the last 2 shows. A battle I always wanted to see. Too bad it was not fleshed out a little more.

a friend of mine has seen all of 2 also... you can get it online somehow i think but i am not quite sure. she has also decided to quit watching because of tennant. of course eccelston was the 1st dr. who she had ever watched. oh well.

John Pertweee and Tom Baker were the best introductions to Dr. Who. I thought Eccelson was a good for the part, but would have preferred him to atleast give it a season or two.

Tennent is doing a good job (atleast in the first two episodes) of balancing out anger/seriousness (I can bring down your Gov't in 6 words....), as well as off beat and corney well. I look forward to this season.

There was the fact of shooting them as they had already surrendered and were leaving, but there was also the fact that the Dr. had set in motion the steps to protect Earth by having the aliens spread the word about the planet being "protexted".

I think it came down to also the Dr. has a belief that all things have a life they must live, and ending it before it has to be, or continuing it long after it should have been over, are areas he violently will voice his opinion.

Although I was curious as to how they contridicted the series so quickly with the new Dr, as the previous incarnation touted Harriet Carter and the one that lead Briton in a very long golden age. Apparently that Golden Age wasn't so long after all.....
